Portugal Job seeker visa

Portugal launched a Job seeker visa. The Visa has been introduced to cover the labor shortage and will be issued at the Portuguese consulate abroad. The validity of the Visa is 120 days further extended to 60 days concerning an able residency permit subject to a legitimate valid employment contract after entering the country. In addition, there are some conditions for applying for this Visa as well mentioned below.

  • The Visa will only be approved if the person has not obtained an entry restriction into the country or another Member State of the European Union (EU).
  • It will also be compulsory for the worker to have a ticket back to their home country (in case he cannot get a job) and financial resources, called means of subsistence.

Step-1 

Online registration with IEFP: The Institute for Employment and Vocational Training is a Portuguese public employment service. It functions under the Employment and Social Security department, which is accountable for executing the Government’s employment and vocational training policies determined and endorsed by the Government. The applicant must declare expressions of interest for IEFP if he wants to apply job seeking a visa to Portugal.
